🇬🇧 HOW FOSTER WON THE INDY NXT TITLE 🇬🇧🏆 | British driver Louis Foster wrapped up the 2024 Indy NXT championship with victory at the Milwaukee Mile. After a slightly tricky start to the season, he picked up 10 successive top-two finishes - seven of those wins (five having led every lap) - with six poles in a run of nine consecutive front-row starts. 👏 GRAHAM RAHAL PRAISES JURI VIPS 👏🗣️ | “Here’s a gentleman who was one mistake away from probably being Verstappen’s teammate. And that’s not just me saying it. That’s a reality.”📚 | But from the brink of Formula 1 with Red Bull, Juri Vips’ career has been turned on its head in recent years. The use of a racial slur on a livestream in June 2022 saw him cut from the Red Bull system. 🔎 | Vips has not raced full-time since but was given a second chance with Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing in INDYCAR in 2023 - he is now reserve driver for the team and has raced three times. 🪑 | There is at least one full-time seat free at RLL for 2025 and Vips, along with the likes of Alexander Rossi, is in contention. And after racing last weekend in Portland, Graham Rahal has heaped praise on Vips.ℹ️ | Since the incident two years ago, Vips has undergone sensitivity and diversity courses. 🗣️ RAHAL’S INSIGHT/VIEWS ON THE CHARTER 🗣️ ☎️ | Graham Rahal was subject of INDYCAR’s preview media call for the Milwaukee Mile doubleheader this coming weekend. Along with other topics that I will cover at a later date, Rahal gave some superb insight on why the impending charter agreement is so pivotal for IndyCar teams and their future security. I mean it when I say this was fascinating to listen to. 📝 | My latest piece presents Rahal’s comments in full and sheds light on what the charter system may actually do. Driving for his family-owned team, Rahal knows that he will likely be in an ownership position in the future. 🗣️ FERRUCCI REACTS TO FIRST INDYCAR POLE 🗣️🥇 | Santino Ferrucci took his maiden IndyCar pole position at Portland International Raceway yesterday - a first P1 Award for AJ Foyt Racing in a decade. It is reward for an astronomical rise for the team across the last 12 months, with Ferrucci contending for a top-10 championship finish after finishing 19th in 2023.📲 | Ferrucci - along with team president Larry Foyt - spoke about a number of topics afterwards, including the emotions of taking pole, how Foyt have reached this stage, his future with the team, the relationship with Team Penske and more. Scott McLaughlin was quickest overall, with Marcus Armstrong and Alexander Rossi also topping the segments of practice.
