📝 DRIVER VIEWS AFTER PORTLAND WEEKEND 📝🗣️ | It’s a Will Power-angled post-weekend INDYCAR Drivers’ View piece this week. The Portland winner was emphatic in his dismissal of possible retirement in years to come as he notched a third win of the season - a first three-victory campaign since 2018 for the Aussie. 👀 | I also dive into what the podium drivers, chiefly top two in the championship (Power and Alex Palou), had to say about the run-in. Palou knows what he has to do to seal it but is completely conscious of Power looming if any mishaps are to be had. And it’s three oval races to the finish - another big talking point among drivers…📲 | You can read the piece below on the DIVEBOMB Motorsport Magazine site 👇 #INDYCAR

🇬🇧 HOW FOSTER WON THE INDY NXT TITLE 🇬🇧🏆 | British driver Louis Foster wrapped up the 2024 Indy NXT championship with victory at the Milwaukee Mile. After a slightly tricky start to the season, he picked up 10 successive top-two finishes - seven of those wins (five having led every lap) - with six poles in a run of nine consecutive front-row starts. It has been a sublime and rampantly dominant campaign. 📲 | You can read my full recap of Foster’s second title-winning season in the US - and relive it round-by-round - on the DIVEBOMB Motorsport Magazine site, as linked below 👇 #INDYCAR #INDYNXT

👏 GRAHAM RAHAL PRAISES JURI VIPS 👏🗣️ | “Here’s a gentleman who was one mistake away from probably being Verstappen’s teammate. And that’s not just me saying it. That’s a reality.”📚 | But from the brink of Formula 1 with Red Bull, Juri Vips’ career has been turned on its head in recent years. The use of a racial slur on a livestream in June 2022 saw him cut from the Red Bull system. 🔎 | Vips has not raced full-time since but was given a second chance with Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing in INDYCAR in 2023 - he is now reserve driver for the team and has raced three times. 🪑 | There is at least one full-time seat free at RLL for 2025 and Vips, along with the likes of Alexander Rossi, is in contention. And after racing last weekend in Portland, Graham Rahal has heaped praise on Vips.ℹ️ | Since the incident two years ago, Vips has undergone sensitivity and diversity courses. And whether with RLL or elsewhere, Rahal feels he is deserving of a second chance in top-level motorsport.📲 | Here is my full story for DIVEBOMB Motorsport Magazine, covering Rahal’s views in Vips, how he has turned things around and RLL’s future 👇 #INDYCAR

🗣️ RAHAL’S INSIGHT/VIEWS ON THE CHARTER 🗣️ ☎️ | Graham Rahal was subject of INDYCAR’s preview media call for the Milwaukee Mile doubleheader this coming weekend. Along with other topics that I will cover at a later date, Rahal gave some superb insight on why the impending charter agreement is so pivotal for IndyCar teams and their future security. I mean it when I say this was fascinating to listen to. 📝 | My latest piece presents Rahal’s comments in full and sheds light on what the charter system may actually do. Driving for his family-owned team, Rahal knows that he will likely be in an ownership position in the future. He realises the importance of the charter, which many from the outside have voiced displeasure towards given certain details assessed in my article. 📲 | You can read the full story below on the DIVEBOMB Motorsport Magazine. Some really illuminating insight from the inside of a divisive topic 👇 #INDYCAR

🗣️ FERRUCCI REACTS TO FIRST INDYCAR POLE 🗣️🥇 | Santino Ferrucci took his maiden IndyCar pole position at Portland International Raceway yesterday - a first P1 Award for AJ Foyt Racing in a decade. It is reward for an astronomical rise for the team across the last 12 months, with Ferrucci contending for a top-10 championship finish after finishing 19th in 2023.📲 | Ferrucci - along with team president Larry Foyt - spoke about a number of topics afterwards, including the emotions of taking pole, how Foyt have reached this stage, his future with the team, the relationship with Team Penske and more. ⛰️ INDYCAR FRIDAY STORIES FROM PORTLAND ⛰️📚 | The final Friday on a road course in 2024 is done and dusted. Scott McLaughlin was quickest overall, with Marcus Armstrong and Alexander Rossi also topping the segments of practice. There was some decent action (including a hint more aggro) on-track and were some interesting insights after the session.📝 | My Friday round-up goes into depth on Pato O’Ward’s championship hopes, Armstrong’s sophom*ore season learnings and oval adaptation, concerns about hybrid-era racing and an assessment of IndyCar’s split practice format. There is also a recap of the session’s key events and results if you missed it.📲 | You can read the round-up below for DIVEBOMB Motorsport Magazine 👇 #INDYCAR #PortlandGP

🚨 IN-DEPTH INTERVIEW W/ Toby Sowery 🚨🌟 | We have a special bonus episode of the DIVEBOMB Motorsport Magazine INDYCAR Podcast live today. And it is a really quite fantastic exclusive, hour-long chat with British racing driver - IndyCar rookie and full-time IndyCar hopeful - Toby Sowery.📚 | I cannot stress enough how remarkable some of the stories and truths disclosed by Toby about the reality of the racing world are. It has not been an easy ride and there have even been years out of racing. But Toby gives some superb insight on the importance of drivers’ roles in the business of racing. 📈 | We start at the beginning of his racing journey and rise, from karting birthday parties to racing alongside the likes of Lando Norris and George Russell. The chat progresses through the junior ranks and how/why Toby ended up pursuing the US ladder of open-wheel racing.😷 | After a really strong year in Indy Lights, the COVID pandemic dealt a huge blow to Toby. Across a three-year period, there were almost two complete seasons of very little racing for him. But with his savviness off-track and ability to leap into rides and perform, his racing career is now back on track again.✅ | A podium finish in Indy Lights in 2023 may have proved the most important result of his career. An IndyCar test and failed discussions for a full-time seat in 2024 following, Toby eventually got his shot in IndyCar in July - something that has transpired to be a three-race programme. As he tells us, Sowery hopes this can be a launchpad for an IndyCar future. 📲 | This synopsis of the conversation barely scratches the surface of a tale of incredible grit and determination. Whether you are an IndyCar fan or not even a motorsport fan, this will be a thoroughly enjoyable watch/listen/read 👇 #INDYCAR #TobySoweryIndyCar👀 | YouTube: https://lnkd.in/e7hPG2UR🎙️ | Spotify: https://lnkd.in/eriGXcp7📝 | DIVEBOMB site: https://lnkd.in/edsJm4zf
